About Jennifer Kelly
A Bit About Jennifer
Throughout her life, Jennifer Kelly has moved around the country with her family living in Florida, Maryland, Washington, North Carolina, Illinois, and now Alabama. Her career as an artist began coloring in coloring books during childhood; from there she progressed to stick figures, primitive drawings, and then onto drawing things that looked more like real subjects. From humble beginnings and after years of practice, Jennifer honed in on her artistic abilities in a number of different mediums: charcoal, pencil, pastel, acrylic paint, ceramic, paper arts, and even bookmaking.
Throughout high-school she won numerous awards for art including a scholarship to North Carolina's Governor's School program in art. This nudged Jennifer toward her current day job as a graphic designer. An education at the Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago prepared her to still think as a fine artist even before touching the computer. Graphic design was the perfect career for her to meld the two areas of expertise as one.
Art is not the only interest for Jennifer. She is passionate about classical archaeology and art history and was able to put this love to use doing archaeological illustration at a center in the four corners of the southwest. In her spare time, she enjoys playing with her chihuahua Louie, watching movies, and visiting as many museums as humanly possible.
